Free and hourly support
B-TXT combines free support with paid project work and annual contracts for research teams that need recurring technical or methodological assistance.
Free support
Initial advice of approximately one hour remains free. Generic training and infrastructure that benefit several groups may also be offered without charge through Research Council or CLARIAH-VL+ funding.
Internal support
€80 per hour for internal support.
Trainings
€100 per hour for group-specific trainings or workshops.
Our existing free services remain free and do not use hours included in an annual support contract. See our services for eligibility and details. Substantial project work is scoped with the client in advance; the final quotation may also reflect affiliation, scope and the reusability of the solution.
Annual support contracts
Research groups and departments can commit to a fixed number of support hours for the year at a reduced hourly rate, then use those hours flexibly as their research needs develop. A support contract can be included in a grant application when the expected amount of support is known but the exact technical problem cannot yet be specified.

How the contracts work
- Contracts run for one year. Unused credit-hours cannot be carried over to the following year.
- Hours can be distributed dynamically in response to changing research needs.
- By default, between half and twice the monthly allocation can be used in a given month. Exceptions can be agreed mutually and remain subject to availability.
- Free services do not count towards the contract allocation.
These support contracts have only recently been introduced. B-TXT is currently discussing possible agreements with research groups.
